Where To Find Mena Dhu (On Draught) In Cornwall

If you, like me (for my Dad) are looking for a pint of draught Mena Dhu when on holiday in Cornwall, here’s a list of locations we can personally confirm have Mena Dhu on tap.

And if you’re not on holiday yet and can’t wait, click here to buy a taster case of Cornwall’s dark and mysterious stouts and porters 🍻

Where to find Mena Dhu in Padstow

🧭 🍺 The Shipwright’s Inn, 5 North Quay Parade, Padstow PL28 8AF

Don’t put this postcode into your sat nav though a Padstow is not car-friendly. There is free parking at Porthilly View PL28 8DH. This is a third of a mile walk along the estuary and highly recommended.

The main car park (which is very expensive) is located at PL28 8DA.

🧭 🍺 The Old Custom House, South Quay, Padstow PL28 8BL

Don’t put this postcode into your sat nav though a Padstow is not car-friendly. There is free parking at Porthilly View PL28 8DH. This is a third of a mile walk along the estuary and highly recommended.

The main car park (which is very expensive) is located at PL28 8DA.

Where to find Mena Dhu in Newquay

🧭 🍺 Great Western Hotel, Cliff Rd, Newquay TR7 2NE

If you can get a seat outside, this is a lovely view over the three beaches of Newquay. You’re also opposite Rebellion Moonshine and Roast House which comes recommended for cocktails.

Parking in Newquay is always busy during the summer so be prepared for a few laps of the town centre if you’re not staying locally.

🧭 🍺 Blue Anchor Inn, Chapel Rd, Fraddon, Saint Columb TR9 6LS

Located a few miles out of Newquay, Blue Anchor Inn is a locals pub serving Mena Dhu. Recommended for a pint if you’re searching and starving for Mena Dhu but only if passing. There is a retail park with a Starbucks, Boots, Next, Marks and Spencer’s, and McDonald's at the end of the road.

🧭 🍺 The Bowgie Inn, West Pentire Rd, West Pentire TR8 5SE

The Bowgie, locally known as “the pink pub” until a refurbishment in 2020 has terrific views over Pentire and Crantock beaches.

As of July 2021, the price of a pint of Mena Dhu is £5. It’s definitely worth paying a little extra if you’re in the Newquay area as this comes with a staggering view and a pub car park.

Where to find Mena Dhu in North Cornwall

🧭 🍺 Port William, Trebarwith Strand PL34 0HB

If there is one place you want to sit outside and enjoy a pint of Mena Dhu, it’s The Port William. Set halfway up the cliff and overlooking the sea, there is arguably no better place to be in North Cornwall.

Driving down to Trebarwith itself is hair-raising. Make sure your reversing is up to scratch. If you arrive early enough, nab one of the 6/7 free parking spaces opposite the first car park you come to.

You cannot park in the car park at the pub unless you are staying overnight.

🧭 🍺 Oyster Catcher, Polzeath, PL27 6TG

Large beach side bar overlooking one of the best surfing beaches in Cornwall.

St Austell Brewery pub with both Mena Dhu and Guinness on tap.

🧭 🍺 The Borough Arms, Dunmere, Bodmin PL31 2RD

Countryside pub stocking local St Austell brewery ales.

Where to find Mena Dhu in South Cornwall

🧭 🍺 The Windjammer, Falmouth TR11 4AU

Overlooking Falmouth harbour, Windjammer includes Mena Dhu on its menu.

Sandwiched between The Stable and The Bearded Brewery for cider drinkers too.

Several car parks nearby.

🧭 🍺 The Lifeboat Inn, Wharf Rd, Saint Ives TR26 1LF

Situated opposite St Ives beach, do pop into the Lifeboat Inn if you’re searching for Mena Dhu. Mostly stocking local beers and ciders, this family pub offers a great selection of drinks.

Parking usually a chore in St Ives during peak summer periods. But you’ll want to park up and explore as St Ives is one of the quaintest towns in the UK.

🧭 🍺 The Harbour Inn, Commercial Rd, Porthleven, Helston TR13 9JB

With excellent outside seating overlooking the harbour (funnily enough), The Harbour Inn is a St Austell Brewery pub where you can enjoy a pint of your favourite stout.

There is a small car park in the village centre, a large car park a short walk away or see if you can get a free space up Beach Road (TR13 9DH). This is a residential road and turning around at the top is not for the faint-hearted!

Where to find Mena Dhu in St Austell

🧭 🍺 Fountain Inn, Cliff Street, Mevagissey, PL26 6QH

The Fountain Inn is a proper pub. With low beams and close seating (spaced out for social distancing), this is a favourite with locals and tourists alike.

Serving St Austell Brewery ales as well as the much sought-after Mena Dhu, be sure to pop in for the lunch special of mussels and Mena Dhu.

🧭 🍺 St Austell Brewery Visitor Centre, 63 Trevarthian Rd, Saint Austell PL25 4BY

Closed during all versions of the UK lockdown, pencil the St Austell Brewery Visitor Centre in for a trip post-lockdown. There is no better place to enjoy a pint of Mena Dhu than its home.

You can get a tour of the brewery, sample almost every beer, and grab some merchandise from the shop.

The “shop” remains open during the UK lockdown where you can collect bottled Mena Dhu.

If you’re a pub that stocks Mena Dhu on tap, let me know on Twitter and I’ll add you to this list.

If you’re a Mena Dhu drinker and find it in another Cornish pub, let me know on Twitter and I’ll add it to this list.
